Since buying Twitter last year, Elon Musk has become a much more regular presence on the social media platform. Taking to Twitter recently, Musk made light of the amount he paid for the acquisition, joking that it was “basically like getting the world‘s biggest non–profit for $44 billion“.
Hundreds of Twitter users responded to the CEO‘s joke, with one user suggesting that Elon Musk should make the social media company open–source to really impress everyone. To this statement, Musk responded positively but noted that expectations should be set.
“Prepare to be dissatisfied at first when our algorithm is made open source next week, but it’s going to improve rapidly!” Musk wrote.
Elon Musk has talked about making Twitter open source several times in recent months and has outlined his aim to make the platform one of the most transparent in the industry. This isn‘t the first time Musk has mentioned open sourcing Twitter.
