Pictures showcasing what appears to be the high-definition radar from Tesla’s Hardware 4.0 were recently shared on Twitter by Tesla code sleuth @greentheonly, the identical source who brought us images of the total next-generation automotive computer from a Model X earlier this week.

Back in September of last 12 months, the brand new high-definition radar Tesla is using with Hardware 4.0 was spotted within the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) for the Model S and Model X.

Hardware 4.0 is the much-anticipated successor to the Hardware 3.0 computing system that currently powers the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) features in the corporate’s electric vehicles (EVs). HW 4.0 was previously also spotted in type approvals for the Model S and Model X in Europe.

In response to @greentheonly, Tesla has already began producing vehicles with HW 4.0 but is yet to deliver any. Tesla is predicted to announce the upgrade to the brand new computer soon, with its annual Investor Day event, scheduled for March 1 at Gigafactory Texas, ripe for such an announcement.

Tesla is predicted to eventually transition all of its EVs to HW 4.0, with company CEO Elon Musk recently confirming that the long-awaited Cybertruck, slated to enter production this summer, will even ship with Hardware 4.0 onboard.
