Tesla Says $20,000 Model S Plaid Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit Launching Soon

Tesla appears to be preparing to debut its limited-edition $20,000 Model S Plaid Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit.

In emails to customers equivalent to Zack (@BLKMDL3), Tesla is asking people to “confirm your interest” within the pricey brake kit.

“Thanks in your interest within the Model S Plaid Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit. As we prepare to release a limited quantity of the kit in the approaching months, we’re offering you the chance to be certainly one of the primary to order,” reads the Tesla email.

“Confirm your interest and we’ll send you an email notification sooner or later before the official release date with more information. Supplies will probably be limited,” explains the e-mail signed off by the Tesla Team.

Back in December, Tesla delayed the brake kit once more to “early 2023.” It was first announced back in November 2021. Nevertheless, in October 2022, Tesla delivered a pair units to customers equivalent to tuner Unplugged Performance and tech reviewer MKBHD.

It stays unclear if this carbon ceramic brake kit will unlock the Model S Plaid’s 200mph top speed. One could also be higher investing $20,000 into Tesla stock?

Aftermarket carbon ceramic brake kits for the Model S Plaid are cheaper than Tesla’s option, equivalent to Unplugged Performance’s version at as much as $9,595 USD.
