We’ve been hearing non-stop chatter about Tesla picking Mexico as the placement of its next plant, and now we now have confirmation yet again the corporate will soon make an announcement, in accordance with Reuters.
Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard said on Friday, “Very soon we can have confirmation that this company, which is so essential, which may be very near the electromobility priorities we’re promoting, has chosen Mexico to extend its presence,” referring to Elon Musk’s company.
Apparently, Musk is ready to talk with Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador soon by phone, says Ebrard, without providing any details on the time of the decision or plant location picked by Tesla.
“It can be talked about in the decision,” said Ebrard, speaking at an event with the country’s business leaders.
Earlier this month, sites Nuevo Leon and Hidalgo were apparently being considered by Tesla in Mexico, as per Lopez Obrador.
