A Tesla Model 3 that is a component of Project Highland has been spotted for the primary time with a brand new and updated wheel design that can include the upcoming refresh of the electrical sedan.
The sighting comes from resident Tesla spotters The Kilowatts, who were in a position to capture a black Model 3 with the identical front and rear camouflage that now we have been seeing more of during the last couple of months. The camouflage is suspected to be hiding some design changes on the front and rear bumpers, with many speculating recent cameras have been added (although recent information suggests otherwise).
One thing that Tesla hasn’t tried to cover on previous sightings are the wheels as they were all outfitted with the identical wheels available on their cars today. Nevertheless in today’s sighting we get to see the brand new 18″ Aero wheels that can include the refresh design.
We first reported on these recent wheels last 12 months, but in an effort to protect the identity of our source we couldn’t publish the photos. Here is how we described them on the time.
“…the brand new 18″ and 19″ wheels is that they’re each finished in matte black, versus the grey and silver used for the present wheels. The 18″ wheel design is comparable to the present Aero wheels, however the spokes come out of the middle of the wheel at more of an angle than they do now.”
Based on these photos shared by The Kilowatts we are able to confirm this is similar design we saw last 12 months, although they were in significantly better condition than these are. We can even confirm that these wheels are missing a bigger center cap, but now we have yet to see if the aero cover has also been updated in its design.

Tesla has also updated the design of the 19″ wheels. Very similar to the updated design for the 18″ wheels, the brand new 19″ wheels are also just like the present design, however the spokes are usually not as “flat” and are more just like the primary generation Sport wheels in that respect.
